Harvest 2024: a demanding vintage, full of promise
The 2024 Bordeaux harvest took place in complex weather conditions, but with remarkable commitment from all those involved in the vineyards. Despite the challenges, this vintage shows a fine balance between freshness and ripeness
.Harvest began on 18 September with the Sauvignon Gris.
Harvest ended on 11 October, marked by the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Highlights and
enseignements🌦️ Capricious weather: heavy parasite pressure from spring onwards (particularly mildew), heavy rainfall followed by a drier summer had a major influence on the rate of ripening.
⏳ Late vintage: rainy spells in spring and cool nights slowed down veraison, delaying ripening for several grape varieties.
🍷 Encouraging quality despite reduced quantity: the first whites show good acidity and clear aromas; the reds, particularly the Cabernet Sauvignon, should provide structure and finesse.
